Courage to Act Foundation Launches Professional Training Series to Address and Prevent Sexual Harassment in Experiential Learning

1 in 2 students report being subjected to sexual harassment or violence while completing experiential learning opportunities, and this number is likely higher in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields.

In response, the Courage to Act Foundation is launching the Safer STEM Lab, a six-part, virtual professional training series that aims to equip participants with the practical tools and strategies needed to address and prevent sexual harassment and foster safer, more inclusive spaces for learning and working in STEM.

This series is designed for student affairs professionals, post-secondary staff and faculty, STEM employers, HR leaders, and workplace supervisors. Through interactive sessions, participants will gain strategies to address and prevent sexual harassment in experiential learning, improve policies, support students, and create inclusive STEM environments for all.

Sessions will take place virtually on the following dates: October 1, October 8, October 22, October 29, November 12, and November 19, 2025, from 12:00 to 2:00 pm ET.

By completing all six sessions, participants will:

  • Collaborate across sectors to advance meaningful change in STEM

  • Build a national network of peers leading this critical work

  • Receive a Certificate of Completion

  • Access exclusive one-on-one consultations with expert speakers to support ongoing efforts toward safer STEM spaces

Register for all 6 sessions!
