COMMUNITIES OF PRACTICE

From 2019 - 2021, Courage to Act built ten robust, national communities of practice for post-secondary administration staff, faculty and students, and community advocates who were working to address and prevent gender-based violence on campus.

  • The Communities of Practice provided opportunities for skill sharing and knowledge building across Canada with gender-based violence (GBV) campus experts and advocates.

  • 5 - 10 experts met monthly within the 10 communities of practice to explore promising practices, key issues for change and provide feedback on the resources and toolkits.

  • The groups collectively created a resource based on the gaps identified in the Courage to Act report for the post-secondary institution (PSI) community.

  • The resources and toolkits were presented at the National Skillshare Series in 2021. From 2021 - 2023, members of our Communities of Practice will support in testing and piloting the toolkits, protocols and materials developed.
